As part of National Writing Day, we’re also delighted to release our first series of podcasts: recordings from this year’s Rathbones Folio Sessions, ‘How To Write A Book In A Day’. Listen to them here.

The Sessions gathered some of the best writers at work today, to discuss the joys and pitfalls of their practice and process. The all-day sessions were chaired by writer, performer and comedienne A.L. Kennedy.

— Part One: The Beginning, with Kate Clanchy and Guy Stagg

— Part Two: The Middle, with Chloe Aridjis, Diana Evans and Alice Jolly

— Part Three: The End, with Raymond Antrobus, Carys Davies and Owen Sheers.

The final episode in the series presents the 2019 Rathbones Folio Mentorships Showcase – readings from this year’s young mentees, Adnaan, Aisha and Henna, as introduced by their mentors, Francesca Beard, Louise Doughty and Joe Dunthorne.

Listen to and download the podcasts, and shout about them on Twitter, tagging @WriteDay and @RathbonesFolio, and using the hashtag #NationalWritingDay.
