Former judge, shortlistee and founding member of the Rathbones Folio Academy, Tessa Hadley, herself a multi-award-winning author, will be joined by Victoria Adukwei Bulley, (Winner, Poetry 2023) and Will Ashon (shortlisted, Non-fiction 2023) in a conversation delving into the idea of readability, the pressures on creativity and what makes a work of ‘literature’.

A reflection on recent events
University of Chichester digital writer in residence Volodymyr Rafeienko, Guardian foreign correspondent and author Luke Harding, and poet and translator Sasha Dugdale talk about the act of witnessing through writing, and the effects of connection with other writers through times of war and great upheaval.

An evening of literary exploration with the 2023 Judges and shortlisted authors
Ali Smith, Jackie Kay and Guy Gunaratne, together with shortlisted authors Yomi Sode, Daisy Hildyard, Will Ashon, Fiona Benson, Victoria Adukwei Bulley, Jonathan Freedland, Safiya Kamaria Kinshasa, Zaffar Kunial, explore the many ways that stories are being told today.
